Catalin Predoiu, proposed as deputy prime minister and minister of Internal Affairs, stated on Monday that the ministry's employees are "elite in Europe", and Romania is a safe country, where one can walk safely on the streets.
"There are over 140,000 employees in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they are elite in Europe, their colleagues from other police forces envy them for the level of security they managed to maintain in our country. You can see what happens from time to time in the news in one country at a time in the European Union", Catalin Predoiu said at the end of the hearing in the Parliament.
He added that Romania is a safe country, where it is safe to walk on the streets, Agerpres informs."Unfortunately, I also know the numbers, I also know the statistics, I'm not saying that everything is perfect, I'm not saying that we don't have to work harder, I'm not saying that we don't have to improve, but we still have to recognize the work of these people. Romania it's a safe country, we walk in the streets safely. You should know that it doesn't happen anywhere in Europe, unfortunately," Predoiu emphasized.
Catalin Predoiu received on Monday a favorable opinion for the position of Minister of Internal Affairs from the specialized committees of the Parliament.
