Road crews in central Romania have been working since Monday afternoon and through Tuesday morning with 42 snow removal machines on the national road sections in the counties of Brasov, Sibiu, Mures, Harghita, and Covasna, as reported by the Brasov Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges, informs Agerpres.
According to the source, a total of 31.5 tonnes of anti-skid material were used from Monday at 5:00 PM until Tuesday at 5:00 AM.
The majority of the machinery operated in Harghita (11 units) and Covasna (10 units).
By Tuesday morning, the roads were dry in Brasov and Mures counties, wet in Sibiu, and partially wet in Harghita and Covasna, with good visibility, as reported by the DRDP Brasov.
Brasov and Sibiu counties are under a Yellow Code for snow, issued by meteorologists for the Southern Carpathians, starting Monday morning and continuing until Tuesday evening at 8:00 PM.
