Romania will sign this week the project for the construction of reactors 3 and 4 at Cernavoda nuclear power plant, the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, announced on Tuesday in a video post on Facebook from Baku (Azerbaijan).
"I am here at the most important annual event for energy and climate. It is a meeting where more than 40,000 people came from all over the world and here I wanted to convey Romania's message to everyone. Romania's message is that we are writing history in energy. We have investments of over 13 billion euros in non-refundable funds in the last year and a half, we have over 10,000 MW in solar and wind energy, new projects, we have 3,500 MW in gas groups, we are the largest gas producer in the European Union and in 2027 we will double our production through Neptun Deep. We have an ambitious civil nuclear program that does not depend in any way on the Russian Federation, it is with Western technology, and we we are preparing for the signing of the most important project for the Romanian energy sector, reactors 3 and 4. And that will happen this week, right here in Baku. I will keep you informed. I want you to stand proud in front of the whole world", Sebastian Burduja said on the social network.
The minister of Energy is participating in the 29th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
