The Romanian national team achieved their first victory at the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship (U18), Division II, Group A, 6-2 (1-2, 3-0, 2-0) versus the Netherlands, on Wednesday, in Asiago (Italy).
The goals for the tricolors were scored by Tamas Marton (02:07), Matei Bolocan (25:03, 51:44), Luca Moise (28:55), Zsolt Mathe (38:06) and Adam Mic (54:53), while Bryan Wendijk (54:53) and Jaidy van Mourik (09:06) scored for the Dutch.
Also on Wednesday, Great Britain defeated China 3-0. The last match of the day will be Italy versus Croatia.
Great Britain are in first place, with 9 points, followed by Italy, with 6 points, China - 4 points, Romania - 3 points, Croatia - 2 points, Netherlands - 0 points.
Romania will play their next match on Thursday, against Great Britain (2:00 pm).
