An earthquake measuring 3.5 on Richter scale occurred on Monday evening, at 19:08 local time, in the Vrancea seismic zone, Buzau County, according to information made public by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP), informs Agerpres.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 140 km near the following cities: 55 km northwest of Buzau, 56 km southeast of Brasov, 57 km north of Ploiesti, 60 km southeast of Sfantu-Gheorghe, 77 km west of Focsani and 85 km northeast of Targoviste.
Since the beginning of January, eight earthquakes with magnitudes between 2.4 and 3.5 have occurred in Romania.
The most significant earthquake of 2024, with a magnitude of 5.4, took place in Buzau County on September 16.
