The ANAF management unconditionally supports the efforts of criminal investigation bodies and ensures the implementation of all legal measures necessary to prevent and combat corruption, the institution announced on Thursday, in the conditions in which DNA prosecutors are conducting searches in a file in which Tax Office officials are accused of protecting ridesharing companies that did not pay their taxes to the state budget.
"Through the zero tolerance policy towards corruption, the ANAF management unconditionally supports the efforts of the criminal investigation bodies and ensures the implementation of all legal measures necessary to prevent and combat this scourge. We reaffirm ANAF's decision to maintain a high degree of trust and to respect the assumed standards of integrity and fairness, while promoting professionalism and ethics in all its activities," an ANAF press release reads.
According to judicial sources, one of the searches is taking place at the ANAF headquarters in Bucharest, the rest representing the residences of individuals or the headquarters/workplaces of commercial companies in Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu.
