All ski slopes in Harghita are operational this weekend, with mountain rescuers advising winter sports enthusiasts to inquire about their conditions and schedules before setting out.
The head of the Harghita County Council's Mountain Rescue and Speleology Service, Simon László, told AGERPRES on Friday that, due to the recent warming of the weather, the condition of some slopes had been affected, but by Friday, all were operational.
According to the forecast, the weather in Harghita is expected to cool down in the coming period, allowing ski slope operators to use artificial snowmaking equipment.
"If someone plans to go skiing, it's best to inquire with the slope manager about the conditions and schedule of the slope," said Simon László.

Simon László further said that every weekend, Harghita's mountain rescuers perform at least 30 interventions, most of which involve accidents on the ski slopes.
Mountain rescuers have also been called by people who got lost, but without significant issues being reported.
Simon László once again advised skiers to choose the slope difficulty based on their skill level, to adjust their equipment properly, to adapt their speed on the slope according to their skiing level, and to be mindful of others.
Additionally, those heading out on mountain hikes are reminded that in some areas, the snow layer is quite thick, and they are encouraged to choose routes based on their skill level, use appropriate equipment, gather information about the condition of the trails and weather conditions, be aware that it gets dark early, use phone apps for orientation, hike in groups, not to leave their companions behind, and to carry a first aid kit.
