Senate President Ilie Bolojan on Monday welcomed the release of hostages following the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, stressing that it must continue.
"Following the truce between Israel and Hamas, three women have been released from captivity in Gaza. Among them, a woman of Romanian-Israeli citizenship and a woman of Romanian origin. Their courage and resilience in the face of hardship inspire respect. It is essential that this truce continues and that all hostages are released and that Israelis and Palestinians live in peace. We remain in solidarity with the families still waiting for the return of their loved ones," Bolojan wrote on the Senate Facebook page.
Hamas on Sunday handed over three Israeli hostages, who are currently at the Sheba Hospital in Tel Aviv. On Monday morning, Israel released the first group of 90 Palestinian prisoners, most of them women and children, as part of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip that came into force on Sunday 11:15 am local time (09:15 GMT), EFE reported.
