The Romanian company AnimaWings is operating as of Wednesday eight weekly flights from Cluj airport, on the Bucharest-Cluj route and return, informs Agerpres.
"Starting today, AnimaWings airline will connect Cluj-Napoca with Romania's capital, Bucharest. The flights will have eight weekly frequencies, on Mondays (2 frequencies), Wednesdays (2 frequencies), Thursdays, Fridays (2 frequencies) and Sundays, and tickets can be booked on the airline's website: https://animawings.com/ro or in the network of accredited agencies and partners," reads a press release sent on Wednesday by the "Avram Iancu" International Airport in Cluj-Napoca.
The moment of the first flight was marked by an inaugural event on Wednesday in Cluj-Napoca.
"This new domestic flight contributes to strengthening the links between the most important economic and cultural centers of Romania. Cluj International Airport continues to invest in the development of its network of air routes, and the partnership with AnimaWings marks an important step in expanding the transportation options available. Today's inaugural event underlines our shared commitment to increasing regional connectivity. We are confident that the initiative of these new domestic flights will be appreciated by our passengers and will contribute to enhancing mobility between Cluj and the capital of the country," said the General Director of Cluj Airport, David Ciceo.
According to the cited source, the flights will be operated mainly with the new Airbus A220-300 aircraft that will enter the AnimaWings fleet at the end of 2024. They pollute 25% less, produce 50% less noise and consume 25% less fuel compared to previous generation aircraft, and are capable of running on up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel.
"The configuration AnimaWings has chosen for its aircraft is 137 seats, with five seats in each row in economy class and 12 fold-down seats in business class, benefiting from the extra space. Passengers flying business class benefit from priority boarding and disembarkation, catering included and personalized services on board, for a relaxing journey in full comfort," the release further mentions.
The next domestic routes in AnimaWings' plans will be the connections Bucharest - Iasi and Bucharest - Oradea and return, the first flights will be operated from the first week of March 2025, in the same conditions of increased comfort, at affordable fares.
