A mobile automated laboratory for monitoring air quality, which belonged to the National Agency for Environmental Protection (ANPM), was donated to the Environmental Agency of the Republic of Moldova, based on a memorandum approved by the Government, ANPM informs in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
The donation was made during a meeting that took place on Wednesday at the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests.
"By our donation of movable property belonging to the private domain of the state to the Environmental Agency of the Republic of Moldova, the response capacity of the authorities in this country will increase in the case of events with an impact on air quality in particular and the environment in general. On the other hand, the use of the automated laboratory by the personnel with responsibilities in the field will lead to both a better knowledge of air quality and to familiarizing the authorized institutions with the reference methods used for monitoring ambient air quality, according to European regulations," the Memorandum signed by the Minister of Environment, Waters and Forests, Mircea Fechet, reads.
Mircea Fechet says that the Republic of Moldova can always count on Romania's support in everything that involves implementing European legislation in the field of environmental protection, so as not to repeat the mistakes made by our country during the accession process, regardless of who will be at the helm of public institutions.
In recent years, several meetings have taken place between the ANPM and the Moldovan Environmental Agency, both in Romania and Moldova, and the exchange of experience in the field of implementing European environmental policies has been permanent, between Romanian specialists and those across the Prut river.
