Romania stands in solidarity with Türkiye and its people following the devastating fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu says in a condolence message addressed to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, inform Agerpres.
"Dear President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Romania stands in solidarity with Türkiye and its people following the devastating fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu. We send our condolences to the families of the victims and wish speedy recovery for those injured," Marcel Ciolacu wrote on Wednesday on X platform.
Turkish police detained nine people, including the hotel owner, in connection with a fire that resulted in 76 deaths and dozens of injuries at the Kartalkaya ski resort in western Türkiye, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Wednesday morning, Reuters reports.
Yerlikaya pointed out that the bodies of 45 victims had been handed over to their families, while DNA tests were still being conducted to identify the remaining bodies at the forensic medicine institute.
The fire occurred on Tuesday night at the 12-story Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort, located in the Bolu Mountains.
