MP Varujan Pambuccian announced that the group of national minorities will offer parliamentary support to the future Government and will participate in all political decisions.
He signed the political agreement on Monday at the Parliament Palace, alongside Social Democratic Party (PSD) President Marcel Ciolacu, interim National Liberal Party (PNL) President Ilie Bolojan, and Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) President Kelemen Hunor, agreement laying out the basis for the formation of the governing coalition.
"We joined this coalition out of a desire for stability and to preserve a firm Euro-Atlantic path - political, economic, and social stability. We also believe, and hope, that together we can ensure this stability. The parliamentary group of national minorities will offer parliamentary support to the Government and will participate in all political decisions, keeping in mind something we care deeply about: in a very difficult economic period ahead, we want the population not to suffer, meaning we do not want to see reductions in income or increases in taxes and fees. We hope that, through the nomination of Mr. Crin Antonescu, and through this decision to work together, the Euro-Atlantic path will be maintained and the most important goal of this path - the accession to the OECD - will be achieved," said Pambuccian in a press statement, alongside Marcel Ciolacu, Ilie Bolojan, and Kelemen Hunor.
According to this protocol, Crin Antonescu will be the candidate supported by the coalition parties for the Presidency of Romania. AGERPRES
