Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announces that the Government will okay on Wednesday "major" projects for the construction of ring roads of Cluj and Baia Mare cities.
The prime minister also referred to the fact that on Wednesday the first operational drilling rig was launched on the Southern Section (1 Mai - Tokyo) of the M6 Metro Line.
"We are accelerating investments in infrastructure in Bucharest, where drilling began today for the metro tunnel to Otopeni, as well as in Baia Mare and Cluj, where we are approving major bypass projects. I want to remind you that, as far as the metro is concerned, as far as I remember, it was signed by President Emil Constantinescu in 1999. So we can see, by the time we started drilling, how long it took. And I remember well that it seems that a minister of Transport had already canceled this investment," Ciolacu said at the start of the government meeting.
He mentioned that the beltway in Baia Mare will be almost 32 kilometers long, representing an investment of 3.2 billion lei.
"In Cluj, the metropolitan belt is 42 kilometers long. It is an extremely complex project, in two stages, estimated at over 9 billion lei," the prime minister added.
