The Government established on Friday, by ordinance, new norms on the forms of organization, establishment, operation and control of medical offices.
According to a Government's press release, medical offices can be established in various forms, including as independent units, commercial companies, associations or within public institutions and religious denominations.
"These will be registered in the Single Register of Medical Offices, and the activity must be carried out exclusively by authorized personnel. Also, medical offices must have minimum facilities established by specific regulations and display the activity program and the specifics of the services offered. The activities carried out may include not only direct medical services, but also related activities, such as education, research and development in the medical field. The doctor or medical personnel who provide these services are individually responsible for professional decisions," the Government explained.
Medical offices will be controlled by the competent authorities, including the Ministry of Health, Public Health Directorates and Professional Colleges, and failure to comply with reporting obligations will draw sanctions.
"The establishment or reorganization of medical offices must be approved by the competent authorities, and changes in their structure must be reported accordingly. These changes aim to ensure better regulation and transparency in the activity of medical offices, thus protecting both patients and medical personnel," the press release informs. AGERPRES
