46 foreign nationals who did not meet the legal requirements were denied entry to Romania in the last 24 hours, and five Romanians citizens were also not allowed to leave the country for various legal reasons, the General Border Police Inspectorate (IGPF) reports.
As many as 69,100 travelers, Romanian and foreign nationals, as well as over 15,300 means of transport went through the border crossing formalities on both the inbound and the outbound at Romania's external border (the border with Serbia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, as well as sea- and air-based travel coming from outside the Schengen Area).
Border checks have been removed starting January 1 at Romania's internal border, specifically at the border with Hungary and Bulgaria, but random checks can be carried out.In the last 24 hours, border police carried out over 10,300 checks in the eDAC app (mobile terminals connected to the relevant databases of the Romanian authorities, as well as to those in the Schengen Area).
