An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 occurred on Saturday afternoon, at 16:36 local time, in the Vrancea seismic zone, Buzau county, according to information published by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 140 kilometers, near the following cities: 53 km northwest of Buzau, 55 km north of Ploiesti, 57 km southeast of Brasov, 62 km southeast of Sfantu Gheorghe, 78 km south-west of Focsani and 83 km northeast of Targoviste, Agerpres informs. Since the beginning of January, 16 earthquakes occurred in Romania with magnitudes between 2.4 and 3.7 degrees.The most important earthquake of 2024, with a magnitude of 5.4 degrees, took place in Buzau County on September 16.
